I’ve been writing fiction, non-fiction and poetry for nearly fifteen years. Writing for me is a passion that I can’t even put into words, but I’ll try. Many literary works that I’ve read over the years have been by authors with bachelor’s degrees or decades of technical experience in a particular field or by authors whose resumes are so impressive that they're intimidating. And because I’m just a wife and mother with two small businesses I figured my creditability as a writer wouldn’t be taken seriously. So for me, writing remained a hobby. But everyone has a story to tell, and I realized that the only qualifications for telling it is the patience to pen it, the paper (money) to publish it, and the perseverance to get it in as many hands as I can. Youngin’ was the first novel I wrote. I remember the elite feeling of accomplishment when I finished it. Right before publication, and after writing and completing three books, I re-read Youngin’ and I came across the errors and mistakes common to the amateur author. But for me Youngin’ was more than just a novel. It was a novel that showed me how far I came.
